Grass grows in a filter strip used between fields in Tuscola County, Michigan - Saginaw Bay Watershed.  A filter strip is used to slow the rate of runnoff, allowing sediments, organic matter, and other pollutants that are being conveyed by the water to be removed by settling out. Filter strips reduce erosion and the accompanying stream pollution, and can be a best management practice
